Velixo field names do not appear in the Excel function wizard

Overview

When attempting to edit an existing Velixo NX function using the Excel function wizard, the field names do not appear:


 


 

Cause

 

Older versions of Excel 365 contained a known issue when working with user-defined functions (UDFs) contained in add-ins based on Excel's newest extensibility features.  Velixo NX is an example of such an add-in.

While Excel's function wizard could be used to create new UDFs...




... it could not be used to edit existing UDFs:


 


Resolution

This has been addressed by Microsoft in current versions of Excel 365.  If you are experiencing this issue, please update your installation of Excel 365.



Workaround


If you are not able to update your installation of Excel, the main workaround for this issue is to edit the function either within the cell:



or within the function bar:

 


Alternate workaround for Acumatica and Excel for Windows

If you are using Acumatica (or an ERP based on Acumatica) with Excel for Windows, you also have the option to use the Velixo Classic add-in.  Velixo Classic is based on different Excel features that do not experience the function wizard issue.
